Red Bug Lake Park Tennis Center, Casselberry (Orlando), Florida

 

Overview:​ The goal of the camp is to continue your development as a player while immersing you in and exposing you to a competitive college tennis environment. While technique will be evaluated and addressed, the aim of the camp is to focus on how to play and how best to prepare for college tennis.  Players will receive instruction and training from college coaches representing all levels of the game (NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA).

Instructional drills/practices and matchplay is conducted with the same intensity and style as a collegiate practice session. Players will have the opportunity to experience various coaching styles and to receive on-court coaching during drills and matchplay competition.

Camp Highlights:

  • 12 hours of on court collegiate style practices and match play

  • On court instruction and interaction exclusively with college coaches

  • Get exposure and network with college coaches

  • Improve your skills and learn singles and doubles strategy specific to college tennis. 

  • In class seminars to motivate and educate players on how to prepare for college tennis

  • T-shirt and prizes

Facilities:

Red Bug Lake Park Tennis Center is located in the north part of Orlando and close to all major tourist attractions and theme parks. Red Bug Lake Park offers incredible facilities including 16 hard courts with lights, covered space for classroom presentations, lunches and workouts. It boasts the second largest tennis complex in Orlando North, and has hosted the Regional and Sectional USTA Tournaments, Florida High School Athletic Association District and State Championships, and the USTA Junior Team Tennis State Championships. The facility has also hosted the FHSAA Tennis ChampionshipsPlayers will train with college coaches at this well known facility.

Camper Program

​

Check-in/Check out: Players check-in on Saturday, December 10th from 7:30 AM- 8:00 AM the Red Bug Lake Park Tennis Center (3600 Red Bug Lake Rd Casselberry, FL 32707). Camp starts at 8:15am. The camp concludes December 11th at 4:30 PM. 

​

Meals: includes daily lunch for all campers

 

Local Hotel Accommodations with special room rates: Participants and families will be required to provide their own hotel accommodations. We have two hotels with a group rate.

8:15-8:35 AM – Welcome seminar and introduction of college coaches

8:40-9:00 AM – Warm-up/stretching

9:00 AM-12:00 PM – Singles & doubles “college style drills” with on-court coaching

12:00-12:45 PM – Lunch

12:45-1:45 PM – Seminars by college coaches

4:00-4:45 PM – Parents seminar  at tennis courts by Coach Geatz & Coach Merchant

2:00-5:00 PM – “College Style” team matches with on court coaching

8:15-8:45 AM – Morning seminar and introduction of college coaches
