About PENN Camp

Overview:​ The goal of the camp is to continue your development as a player while immersing you in and exposing you to a competitive college tennis environment. While technique will be evaluated and addressed, the aim of the camp is to focus on how to play and how best to prepare for college tennis.

Camp Highlights:

  • 10 hours of on court collegiate style practices and match play for UTR ratings

  • On court instruction and interaction exclusively with college coaches

  • Get exposure and network with college coaches

  • improve your skills and learn singles and doubles strategy specific to college tennis.

Facilities: The Hamlin Tennis Center is the home of the Penn men's and women's tennis teams and is one of the finest collegiate facilities in the country! Featuring 20 courts (12 outdoor & 8 indoor).

 

Resident Camper Program (2 nights housing, meals and 24 hr supervision)

Check-in/Check out: Players check-in on Friday July 24 (day before camp) between 4-6pm at the Homewood Suites by Hilton. The camp concludes July 26 at 4pm. Parents will pick up players at the courts. Players using the airport drop off service will be accompanied to the airport.

2 nights Housing, Meals, 24 Hour Supervision: The Resident Program includes meals, 24-hour adult supervision and 2 nights of luxury hotel accommodations at the Homewood Suites University City. Each room includes a king bed and sofa bed. Maximum 2 campers per room. Specific roommates can be requested, or if no request is made, players will be assigned a roommate of the same gender and age. 

Roommate Request: Complete the Travel/Housing form. Will do our best to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee requests that are less than 30 days before the start of camp.

Airport Pickup/Drop Off Service Upon request: Campers flying unaccompanied by an adult can be met by a member of our coaching staff at the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) according to the following schedule:

Schedule Your Flights

Arrival: Friday, July 24 between 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Departure: Sunday, July 26 after 6:30 p.m.

The group will take the Regional Rail service (SEPTA), which includes an Airport Line that runs directly from the Philadelphia International Airport to the University City station. University City station is only a few steps away from Penn's campus. The cost is approx. $10 each way. Players must bring cash to pay for tickets. ​Detailed information on exact meeting location and contact information of the staff member meeting the group at the airport will be texted to the cell phone numbers provided during registration of parent and camper 48 hrs before the start of camp.

 

To schedule an airport chaperone: Complete the Travel/Housing form must be completed at least 10 days prior to start of camp.

Commuter Camper Program (daily lunch)

Check-in/Check out: Players check-in on Saturday July 25 at 7:30am at the Penn Tennis Center. The camp concludes July 26 at 4pm. Parents will pick up players at the courts. 

Meals: The commuter program includes daily lunch. 

 

Local Hotel Accommodations: For families requiring hotel accommodations, we recommend three hotels below. All are in walking distance to the Penn Tennis Center.
